Efforts underway to stabilise market ahead of Ramadan: Commerce adviser
He also seeks collaboration from journalists to achieve this goal
Commerce Adviser Sheikh Sheikh Bashir Uddin has said government efforts are going on to stabilise the prices of essential commodities, particularly in preparation for the upcoming Ramadan.
Prices of sugar, oil and onions have already shown a decline due to recent market interventions, he said at a scholarship cheque distribution event at the Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) today (23 November).
"We are striving to maintain a balance between supply and demand to ensure affordability," the adviser said, adding that achieving a sustainable market requires collective efforts and public cooperation.
He also sought collaboration from journalists to achieve this goal.
The adviser said that in the last 15 years a culture of criminalisation emerged, fragmenting the state and creating a pervasive sense of fear across various sectors.
He also called on students to view knowledge acquisition as a continuous process and to remain determined in their pursuit of academic and professional success.
