Met office forecasts mainly dry weather over country
Air navigation, inland river transport and road communication may be disrupted temporarily due to dense fog. says the Met office forecast
Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today (8 January) forecasted that weather may remain dry over the country for the next 24 hours.
"Weather may remain mainly dry with the temporary partly cloudy sky over the country", said the forecast that begins at 9am this morning.
Ridge of sub-continental high extends up to West Bengal and adjoining areas. Seasonal low lies over South Bay, extending its trough to North Bay.
Moderate to dense fog may occur over the country from midnight to morning, and it may continue till noon at places. Air navigation, inland river transport and road communication may be disrupted temporarily due to dense fog.
The country's night temperature may fall by 2-3 degrees Celsius, and the day temperature may fall by 2-4 degrees Celsius. Due to dense fog, cold feelings may increase during the day.
The country's maximum temperature yesterday (7 January) was recorded at 30.0 degrees Celsius at Sitakunda, and the minimum temperature today was recorded at 12.8 degrees Celsius at Jashore.
