Everyone will be benefitted from Army's magistracy power: Home adviser
He also said, those policemen who have not resumed their duties yet will not be allowed to join work again and disciplinary action will be taken against them
All countrymen will be benefitted from the magistracy power of the commissioned officers of the Bangladesh Army, said Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.
"The army has been working in the field for a long time in the service of the people. They have been given magistracy powers in the interest of public service and maintaining law and order," he said after the training parade of 40th BCS (Ansar) cadre officers and 25th batch (male) sepoys of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Party (VDP) at Kaliakore in Gazipur this morning (18 September).
He said, "Our law enforcement forces are short of manpower. The army is working to fulfil that."
In response to another question from journalists, Adviser Lt Gen Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd) said the Bangladesh Army is a people-friendly and well-disciplined force.
"The public should have no problem in communicating with them or seeking their assistance."
