Ex-Jhalakathi MP Shahjahan Omar sued under explosive act

Former Awami League lawmaker from Jhalakathi Barrister M Shahjahan Omar has been sued with Rajapur Police Station under the explosive act.
Advocate Talukder Abul Kalam Azad, president of Rajapur upazila BNP filed the case Friday night (22 November) accusing 150 people including Barrister Shahjahan Omar and 52 leaders and workers of AL, officer-in-charge of Rajapur Police Station told BSS.
Abul Kalam Azad alleged that Shahjahan Omar and the other accused persons damaged the BNP Rajapur thana unit office, hurled bombs and finally set the office on fire on 30 December 2023.
Earlier on Thursday, police arrested Shahjahan Omar in connection with a case filed with Kathalia Thana on the charge of damaging and setting fire to the BNP's Kathalia upazila office.
