Ex-minister Golam Dastagir Gazi's PS Firoz arrested in Cox's Bazar
Police in Cox's Bazar have arrested Firoz Bhuiyan, the personal assistant (PS) to former textiles and jute minister Golam Dastagir Gazi.
Superintendent of Cox's Bazar police Muhammad Rahmat Ullah said Firoz Bhuiyan, 52, was arrested at 10am this morning (19 November) from a room of "Hotel The Cox Today" in Cox's Bazar city.
"Based on intelligence information, a police team conducted a raid at the hotel 'Hotel The Cox Today' and arrested Firoz Bhuiyan. He is a named accused in multiple cases filed with Rupganj police station in Narayanganj district," he added.
Rahmat Ullah also said after completing the necessary proceedings in Cox's Bazar, he would be handed over to the Rupganj police station for further action.
Earlier, on 24 August Golam Dastagir Gazi was arrested from his Shantinagar home in a murder case filed with Narayanganj's Rupganj police station. He along with 13 other accused were sent to jail after being produced before the court yesterday (18 November).
