Ex-PMO principal secretary Nazibur sent to jail after remand
A Dhaka court on 18 December granted him a three-day remand in the case after the hearing
Ex-principal secretary to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and former National Board of Revenue (NBR) chairman Nazibur Rahman was sent to jail after end of his three-day remand in connection with killing of BNP activist Makbul in 2022.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Saifuzzaman passed the order today (25 December) after police, following the remand, produced Nazibur before the court appealing to keep him in jail until the investigation is over.

Police arrested Nazibur Rahman from the capital's Ramna area on 6 October.
According to the case documents, BNP leaders and activists as part of their party program on 10 December 10 2022 began to gather in the capital.
Police and AL men later created ruckus in front of the BNP headquarters in Naya Paltan on 7 December . They entered the BNP office and charged batons and opened fire at the BNP men, injuring Mokbul critically.
In this incident, an individual named Mahfuzur Rahman filed a case against 256 people including Sheikh Hasina with Paltan Police Station on 30 September.
