Ex-railway minister Sujan denied bail in Panchagarh murder case

A Panchagarh court today (1 December) sent former railway minister and ex-MP of Panchagarh-2 constituency Nurul Islam Sujan to jail rejecting the bail petition in a case over the kidnapping and murder of Al Amin, a local easy bike driver.
Panchagarh Senior Judicial Magistrate Ashrafuzzaman passed the order.
The hearing was held amid tight security and Sujan was brought to the court from Dhaka's Kashimpur jail on Saturday night.
According to the case statement, the plaintiff's son was beaten on the former minister's order and later went missing.
On 10 November, Manu Mia, father of easy bike driver Al Amin, filed the case at Panchagarh Sadar Police Station.
The former railway minister was named as the main accused along with 19 other named people and 150 unidentified people.
On 16 September, Sujan was arrested by police from Bangladesh Specialized Hospital in the capital's Shyamoli.
