Ferry movement suspended 2 hours in Paturia Ghat
Vehicles bound for Southwestern districts were stranded at the ghat with passengers
The ferry movement between the Paturia-Daulatdia river route was suspended for two hours due to dense fog, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Paturia Ghat sources said.
Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Paturia Ghat Assistant General Manager (AGM) Abdus Salam said that the ferry movement was suspended at 5am this morning (20 October) as the Padma River was blanketed with dense fog which disrupted the visibility, adding that the ferry movement started at 7am after the fog disappeared.
During this period all the nine ferries plied between Paturia-Daulatdia were anchored at Paturia Ghat as the dense fog was centralised at Paturia Ghat areas only, he added.
Vehicles bound for Southwestern districts were stranded at the ghat with passengers.
