Gas supply to Ashuganj fertiliser factory resumes after nearly 9-month
The authorities have started the urea production process after the gas supply was normalised today
Gas supply to the Ashuganj Fertilizer and Chemical Company Ltd in Brahmanbaria has resumed after a nearly nine-month suspension.
The authorities have started the urea production process after the gas supply was normalised today (15 November), the factory's Managing Director Pradip Kumar Nath told The Business Standard.
"However, several steps need to be completed before starting urea production. It will take at least another two weeks to start fertiliser production in full-scale," he added.
According to factory sources, the factory produces about 1,100 tonnes of urea fertiliser per day. Due to a gas crisis, the authorities had to suspend production from 21 February 21.
The factory workers went on protest demanding the resumption of gas supply. They also submitted memorandums to the concerned departments.
