Govt to make Military Academy international standard: PM
Some 234 Officer Cadets formally passed out from BMA
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today said the government has been working to make Bangladesh Military Academy modern and of internationally standard.
The premier made the remark while addressing a parade marking the commission as cadet officers of the 77 Long Course of Bangladesh Military Academy (BMA) at Bhatiary in Chattogram.
She said the duration to obtain commission has been raised to three years from two. Besides, the academy introduced four-year honours course and Engineering degree in various subjects.
Some 234 Officer Cadets formally passed out from BMA. Of them, 207 Male Cadets and 27 Female Cadets have been commissioned in Bangladesh Army.
There were also 28 Cadets from Saudi Arabia, one cadet from Palestine and one Cadet from Sri Lanka who passed out through this ceremony on successful completion of their military training.
The Prime Minister also distributed the prizes among the award-winning Cadets for outstanding performances.
