Govt close to building self-reliant Digital Bangladesh: Palak
State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak has said the government is now very close to building a self-reliant Digital Bangladesh with the development of an ICT infrastructure, policy support and building capacity.
"Digital Bangladesh is no more a dream, it's a reality now," he said on Wednesday while addressing a function organised by the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) at the BCC auditorium.
Palak said it has been possible to keep almost all activities normal, including education and court, using the ICT infrastructure.

The government has been providing training to build skilled human resources since 2009, he said, adding that the mobile phones and laptops industries have been set up in the country.
The state minister also mentioned that the government aided IBA to launch the ACMP 4.0 course aimed at providing world-class training in the country.
Chaired by IBA Director Professor Dr Ferhat Anwar, the function was addressed by ICT Senior Secretary N M Zeaul Alam, BCC Executive Director Parthapratim Deb, LICT Project Director Md Rezaul Karim, IT-ITES Policy Adviser Sami Ahmed, MDP Coordinator of IBA Dr Shakila Yasmin, BASIS President Syed Almas Kabir, BACCO President Wahid Sharif and CEO of Augmedix Rashed Noman.
A total of 207 trainees who successfully completed the `ACMP 4.0 Summer 2020' course received a certificate at the programme.
The training course was introduced by IBA in collaboration with the LICT project in October 2017 and 636 mid-level and senior professionals of different IT companies received training then.
