Govt job seekers to get flexibility on age-limit due to pandemic

The Bangladesh government will offer flexibility on the age-limit of government job seekers. The decision will allow candidates who turned 30 years old on March 25 this year to apply for public services.
The move was made in the favour of applicants following the instruction of senior government officials in a bid to tackle disruptions in the recruitment process, caused by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, reports Prothom Alo quoting an official at the Ministry of Public Administration.
Responding to query, three officials at the ministry said they sent the draft to the higher authorities for approval, but the approval is yet to come.

The recruitment process for government jobs remains halted due to the Covid-19 pandemic. No government job circular was published by the Public Service Commission during the 66-day long shutdown that began on March 26 to curb the virus.
The shutdown was lifted on a limited scale on May 31, and then gradually, normal activities began to resume.
As per regulations, the age-limit for applying for a government job is 30 years.
