Gridlock at airport intersection as roads inundated after night's rain
Commuters travelling from Tongi, Jashimuddin, and Uttara towards Mohakhali and Kuril faced significant delays this morning (1 October), as heavy traffic congestion built up around the Airport intersection due to waterlogging caused by last night's rain.
A marketing manager at a local agency, who travels from Uttara to Eskaton daily, said, "I got out from Uttara at 8am and reached Eskaton at 10:30am. I was stuck in front of the Airport intersection for almost an hour and a half."
DMP Uttara division traffic Additional Deputy Commissioner Fazlul Karim told TBS, "Due to last night's heavy rain, the road was inundated and the situation deteriorated at the Airport intersection area."

"So people moving from Tongi, Jashimuddin and Uttara towards Kuril Mohakhali are facing gridlock," he added.
Roads are free of congestion after the Airport intersection, he said.
