We are monitoring coronavirus-affected countries: IEDCR
The IEDCR has tested 79 samples of suspected coronavirus patients, so far, none of them have been found positive
Bangladesh is observing the situation in coronavirus-affected countries apart from China, according to the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research (IEDCR).
"We are communicating with the newly affected countries through the foreign ministry and the high commissions. In some cases, we also make connection with the health ministry of those countries," IEDCR Director of Professor Dr Meerjady Sabrina Flora said while addressing a regular press briefing at the institute yesterday.
She said the condition of five Bangladeshi nationals infected with COVID-19 in Singapore and one in the United Arab Emirates remained unchanged.

Of them, one is kept in the intensive care unit in Singapore, she added.
She urged the people living in different countries to communicate with the IEDCR using its hotline if they face any problem in this regard.
"They can communicate with us through the hotline or on e-mail if they face any difficulties in understanding language of those countries. We will help them," she said.
She asked the people not to visit the corona virus-affected countries, except in case of any urgency.
So far, the IEDCR has tested 79 samples on suspicion of coronavirus but none of them were found positive, she said adding, "We can say it for sure that there is no coronavirus-affected person in the country."
