High-level US delegation meets Chief Adviser Yunus
A high-level delegation of the United States met Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today (15 September).
The meeting began at 11am at the State Guest House Jamuna in Dhaka.
The high-level delegation, headed by Deputy Undersecretary at the US Department of Treasury Brent Neiman, arrived in Bangladesh yesterday (14 September).
The delegation affirmed the dedication of the US to fostering inclusive economic growth, institution building, and development to benefit the people of Bangladesh.
"As Bangladesh looks to chart a more equitable and inclusive future, the US stands ready to support those efforts," the US Embassy posted on their Facebook page following the meeting.
This is the first time, any US delegation is visiting Dhaka since the interim government, led by Prof Yunus, assumed office on 8 August.
The delegation includes US Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu and representatives from the US Department of the Treasury, USAID, and Office of the US Trade Representatives.
