The upazila administration in Cox's Bazar's Chakoria has demolished an Awami League office in the district's Laxirchar union which was illegally constructed on land owned by the district council.
A team led by Chakaria Upazila Assistant Commissioner (land) and Executive Magistrate. Erfan Uddin conducted a drive today (20 November) and recovered the land.
Erfan Uddin informed that Cox's Bazar District Council owns two plots, measuring 40 decimals, under plot number 7 of BS in Laxirchar Mauza.
He said for quite some time, a local group, under the guise of the AL, had illegally constructed the office on the district council's land and occupied it.
"The drive against those who have encroached on government land will continue," he added.
