Image of Bangabandhu from paddy the best way to commemorate him: Bahauddin Nasim
The portrait is being created in Balenda village of Sherpur
Paddy on around 100 bighas of land in Bogura is being made into an image of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to celebrate Bangabandhu's birth centenary.
According to the Convener of Bangabandhu Jatiya Parishad and Joint General Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League A F M Bahauddin Nasim, speaking during a meeting at Bangladesh Krishibid Institute on Friday, this will be the best, most appropriate way to commemorate him.
During his remarks, Nasim said, "Our celebration of Bangabandhu's birth centenary through agriculture will present him to the world in a more unique way.

Since Bangabandhu dedicated his life to provide his countrymen with the basic necessities, we think his likeness created from grains will best reflect those great contributions."
He also mentioned that the image will be submitted to the Guinness Book of World Records by 21 February.
On 29 January, paddy seedlings were arranged per the layout of Bangabandhu's face and planted in the Balenda village of Bhabanipur union in Bogura's Sherpur upazila.
The image will become visible in about eight to 10 days and it will take about 120 more days for the seedlings to turn into paddy.
The organizing team is in regular touch with the Guinness authorities and working to create the largest image made entirely of grains.
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the current largest grain painting was created in China in 2019, covering an area of 8,55,786 square feet.
