India urged to take action against CHT-based separatists in Mizoram frontier
When the BGB chases after the terrorist groups, the latters cross the inaccessible areas in the hills and go into hiding on the Indian side
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said separatist groups of both India and Bangladesh are active in the border area of Mizoram.
"We have already shared information during the recent bilateral meeting between the Border Guard Bangladesh [BGB] and the Border Security Force [BSF] of India in Guahati," the minister said while speaking at a medal-giving ceremony at the BGB headquarters in Pilkhana on Wednesday.
The home boss said when the BGB chases after the terrorist groups they cross the inaccessible areas in the hills and go into hiding on the Indian side.

"We are increasing the number of Border Outposts (BOPs) so that frequent border crossings by the separatists and crimes do not happen. We have friendly relations between the two neighbouring countries. They are cooperating with us as much as they can and we are doing the same."
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has always said the country will not allow even an inch of its territory to be used by any separatist groups, and that is what is constantly being ensured in cooperation with the BSF, said Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.
"We have formed the BGB as a three-dimensional force under the directive of the prime minister to stop these kinds of terrorist activities."
The construction of border roads is under way and once it is done, all these problems will go, hoped the minister.
"We also share our border with Myanmar in some such areas also. We have some intelligence that from those areas, separatists of both countries cross each other's frontiers, commit some crimes and go away," he said.
Myanmar's separatist groups also took shelter in hard-to-reach hilly areas on the Bangladesh side.
In his address, Director General of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Major General Md Shafeenul Islam said they expressed concern to the Indian BSF over the presence of Chattogram Hill Tracts-based separatist terrorist groups in the hilly region of the Indian state of Mizoram.
At a recent BGB-BSF Director General level border conference in Guwahati, Assam, Major General Shafeenul Islam urged his Indian counterpart to destroy the hideouts of these separatists groups.
"The BSF gives us such locations every time. We conduct operations there but find nothing. We have also informed them of the fact."
A total of 59 BGB personnel were awarded medals in four categories for their heroic and praiseworthy acts.
The categories include Border Guard Bangladesh Medal (BGBM), President Border Guard Medal (PBGM), Border Guard Bangladesh Medal Service (BGBMS) and President Border Guard Medal Service (PBGMS).
