Journalist beaten, phone snatched from DC office premise Cox's Bazar
“I went there for some information for my professional reasons. Suddenly, some men attacked me and snatched my phone,” Sayedul said
A journalist was beaten by unidentified men in front of the deputy commissioner's office in Cox's Bazar today (29 September).
His phone was also snatched by the perpetrators, according to the victim, identified as Sayedul Islam Farhad, the Cox's Bazar correspondent of online news portal dhakapost.com.
The incident took place at around 2:00pm.
"I went there for some information for my professional reasons. Suddenly, some men attacked me and snatched my phone," Sayedul said.
"I have been able to identify some of the attackers. They are residents from the Maheshkhali upazila. I have filed a case with the Cox's Bazar Sadar Police Station," he added.
Confirming the filing of the case, Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Foyzul Azim said, "Legal action is underway."
