Lioness Nova of Chattogram Zoo dies
Nova, a lioness at Chattogram Zoo, passed away at the age of 18 years and 4 months.
Nova breathed her last at 8:30 am on Saturday due to complications related to old age, Chattogram Zoo Deputy Curator Dr Shahadat Hossain shared this information with the media.
Born in June 2005, Nova had been grappling with age-related ailments for the past year, eventually ceasing to eat and drink as of 26 September.

Dr Shahadat mentioned that an autopsy will be conducted, and Nova's hide will be preserved for posterity.
Additionally, the skeleton will be carefully preserved, and Nova's pelt will have a permanent place in an upcoming zoo museum, he added.
