Bangladeshi worker died at construction site in New York
Another Bangladeshi worker Ashraful Hasan was admitted to nearby NYU Langone Hospital
A Bangladeshi construction worker died and another was left heavily injured after a wall at an under-construction site collapsed in Brooklyn, New York on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Jasim Uddin, 41, hailing from Vanuai village in Sonaimuri upazila of Noakhali district. He was living in New York for the past ten years, according to a local source.
Another Bangladeshi worker Ashraful Hasan was admitted to nearby NYU Langone Hospital after being seriously injured.
According to construction workers at the building, Jasim and Ashraful were working at the basement of 4th and 5th Avenue in Brooklyn and at Sunset Park, 42nd Street. Two were crushed when the brick wall collapsed at around 2 pm.
An investigation is underway by the local police about the cause of the accident.
