The training aims to enhance the entrepreneurial skills of expatriates so that they can do business upon their return to Bangladesh
The Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) and Bangladesh Embassy in South Korea are jointly organising a training for non-resident Bangladeshis in South Korea.
The training aims to enhance the entrepreneurial skills of expatriates so that they can do business after they return to the homeland.
The two-day online training course started on Sunday, said a media statement.
During the inauguration of the training course, DCCI President Rizwan Rahman said, "Bangladeshi remittance fighters abroad are contributing a lot to the development of the country's economy."
"The aim of this training course is to train and motivate these non-resident Bangladeshis [NRBs] to become entrepreneurs after they return to Bangladesh," he added.
This training course will cover: how to get a license to start a business, company registration, formulating a strategic business plan, selecting a place for industry, supply chain management, accounting, business expansion, and wind-up procedures, the media statement read.
Abida Islam, ambassador of Bangladesh in Seoul, said, "The demand for a skilled Bangladeshi workforce is increasing in global labour markets. Currently, about 10 thousand Bangladeshis are working in South Korea in different professions. This training will increase their self-confidence."
FM Borhan Uddin, director general of Bangladesh's Foreign Ministry, said, "Bangladesh is the eighth largest remittance earning country in the world. In the wake of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, NRBs will help country through technology transfer."
He suggested the NRBs be trained and use the skills for the development of the country after their return to their homeland.
