‘Will withdraw Razakars’ list if too many errors found’
Ministry of Liberation War Affairs published the names of 10,789 Razakars on December 15
Expressing regret over the inclusion of freedom fighters' name in the recently published list of Razakars, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque on Tuesday said it will be withdrawn if too many errors are found.
Speaking to the media following an event at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in Dhaka, the minister said, "The list was created in 1971 and the Pakistani government may have included the names of Freedom Fighters at that time.
"We released the Razakars' list as it was received from the home ministry. The home ministry made the list from government records documented during that time, they did not create a new one."
On December 15, the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs published the names of 10,789 Razakars who had collaborated with the Pakistani occupation forces during the 1971 Liberation War and committed crimes against humanity.
