Move underway to enhance skill, create employment
‘The government has always welcomed new innovations. A collaborative initiative will succeed in achieving targets before 2041’
The National Skills Development Authority (NSDA) and the Creative Media Industry Skills Council will work together to enhance creative skills and create employment.
This was officially announced on Wednesday afternoon at the multi-purpose hall of the Bangladesh Film Archive auditorium in the capital's Agargaon.
Prime Minister's private sector adviser Salman F Rahman was present on the occasion as the chief guest while State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak and Prime Minister's Principal Secretary Ahmed Kaikaus as special guests at the event.

The aim of Creative Media Industry Skills Council is to enhance creative skills in various fields of journalism, music, arts (acting, dance, recitation, etc.), film and TV industry (entertainment), theater, graphics design and animation, contemporary art, literature and poetry, and advertising.
Salman F Rahman said: "I have been working with the Prime Minister from the very beginning on what the work of the National Skills Development Authority will be."
The goal of the Creative Media Industry Skills Council will be achieved through a combination of creative media and technology.
"Our technology is quite advanced which will create a favourable environment for you. The National Skills Development Authority will always be there for the progress of this council," said the adviser.
Ahmed Kaikaus said the journey that the Creative Media Industry Skills Council has embarked on will be fruitful, and there is no substitute for acquiring skills to take part in the fourth industrial revolution.
"Our government has always welcomed new innovations. Hopefully, this collaborative initiative of the two organisations will succeed in achieving its targets before 2041," he added.
In his address, Junaid Ahmed Palak said, "Today we are a developing country as the government, private and academic sectors are working together. Now we are in the digital economy, but to take part in the fourth industrial revolution, we have to set foot in the creative economy."
"We want to be self-reliant, not self-centered."
Actress Shomi Kaiser said, "The way e-commerce has expanded in our country during the corona period will also be so in e-entertainment."
"We can start Netflix's alternative platform by creating skilled manpower in the media industry."
NSDA Executive Chairman Dulal Krishna Saha presided over the function.
