SASNET to host seminar on the occasion of Bangabandhu’s 100th anniversary

The Swedish South Asian Studies Network (SASNET) is organising digital conversation on the occasion of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's 100th birth anniversary.
Speakers at the event are Anisur Rahman and Kristian Carlsson, who will present Anisur Rahman's book Jag är Sheikh Mujib (I Am Sheikh Mujib), said a press release.
The epic monologue depicts the freedom struggle on the Indian subcontinent through the voice of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman - from British colonial times to the first tentative years of independent Bangladesh under his leadership, according to the press release.
Anisur Rahman's literary works include prose, poetry, play, novel, short story and books for children. His plays have been presented at theatres in Asia and Europe, the press release, the press release reads.
Kristian Carlsson lives in Malmö, Sweden. He is a poet, translator, editor, curator of literary events, and publisher. He has published a large number of books of poetry and translation since his debut in 1996, the press release added.
The event will be held on Zoom and features a question-and-answer session with the audience. Interested people are encouraged to register in advance via Zoom. The registration link can also be found on SASNET's website, the press release further said.
