Nationwide survey on constitutional reform to begin tomorrow
The survey will be conducted from 5 December to 10 December 2024, the commission said in a press release today (4 December)
A nationwide public opinion survey will begin tomorrow (5 December) to gather citizens' views on constitutional reform in Bangladesh.
The Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics will carry out the survey across all 64 districts of the country, on behalf of the Constitutional Reform Commission.
The survey will be conducted from 5 December to 10 December 2024, the commission said in a press release today (4 December).
The Constitutional Reform Commission was established on 7 October by the interim government with the goal of reviewing and evaluating the existing constitution.
The commission aims to prepare a report with recommendations for constitutional reforms to promote a more representative and effective democracy, and to empower the people.
The commission has already been actively engaging with various stakeholders, organisations, individuals, and constitutional experts. It has also collected citizens' opinions through its official website, receiving a total of 50,573 responses.
In addition, the commission has also received written opinions from political parties, it added.
