Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said cattle markets will not be allowed to be set up along highways and indiscriminately.
He also said movement of heavy vehicles such as trucks and lorries will not be allowed on highways for three days each before and after Eid-ul-Azha.
Quader urged the Dhaka city corporations to take steps to reduce public sufferings at cattle markets.
“I hope the city corporations will keep an eye on the matter like previous times,” he said at the Secretariat on Monday.
The minister also said there will be no effect of flood on Eid journey.
