Now BRTA vehicle inspectors, deputy directors can take action against traffic rule breakers

From now on, the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority's (BRTA) motor vehicle inspectors, and deputy directors will be able to conduct operations and take legal action against traffic law breakers.

Besides, the BRTA's inspector of motor vehicles, assistant director (engineering), assistant director (general), deputy director (engineering) and directors have been empowered to take legal action against crimes committed on roads and highways as per the Road Transport Act, 2018 and Road Safety Rules, 2022.
Road Transport and Highways Division Joint Secretary Md Monirul Alam told TBS, "This initiative was taken by the government as per the Road Transport Act and the Road Safety Rules. However, the BRTA will formulate a more specific outline in executing the order."
