People with disabilities too moving forward: Information minister

Information and Broadcasting Minister Hasan Mahmud on Tuesday said the country's disabled people are moving forward along with economic progress.
"People with disabilities are leaving the marks of their talents both at home and abroad," he said while speaking at the award-giving ceremony of the autistic children's drawing competition.
AB Bank organised the programme at Hotel Sonargaon in the capital to mark the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The minister said Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the architect of Bangladesh, had dreamed of independence of the country since 1952. In line with that, Bangladesh is now on the path of prosperity.
Mentioning that Bangladesh is far ahead of Pakistan, the minister said, "Bangladesh is now even ahead of India in many social indicators. He hoped that Bangladesh would become a higher middle-income country by 2030."
Information and Broadcasting Minister Hasan Mahmud handed over the prizes to the three winners of the drawing competition. Children from the Society for the Welfare of Autistic Children (SWAC) took part in the competition.
AB Bank Chairman Muhammad A (Rumee) Ali was present as the special guest at the function presided over by Tariq Afzal, managing director of the bank.
They said as an institution, AB Bank is a partner in any progress in the country and will continue to do so in the future.
The top bosses of the bank commented that the organisation is proud to be able to organise such an event on the occasion of Bangabandhu's birth centenary.
