Planning Commission member Suleman Khan sent on forced retirement
The government has sent Planning Commission member Suleman Khan on forced retirement.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification in this regard today (10 December).
It said Suleman has completed 25 years of service and the government considers it necessary to retire him from government service in public interest. Therefore, he has been retired from government service under the powers granted under Section 45 of the "Government Service Act, 2018".
He will get retirement benefits as per the rules, added the notification.
Section 45 of the Government Service Act states that "the government may, if it considers necessary in the public interest so to do, retire from service a public servant at any time after he has completed 25 years of service without assigning any reason."
The post of a Planning Commission member is of the rank of secretary.
