Govt must hold dialogue with civil society, political parties on reform roadmap: Jamaat ameer
The Jamaat chief stated that the electoral roadmap can only succeed if the necessary reforms are completed before the elections
The interim government must hold dialogue with the civil society representatives and political parties to establish a roadmap for reforms, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman said today (26 September).
"The government should provide a list of proposed reforms along with a clear timeline for their implementation. Without these reforms, the election roadmap is bound to fail," he said while speaking at a conference of lawyers organised by Dhaka Metropolitan South Jamaat.
The Jamaat chief stated that the electoral roadmap can only succeed if the necessary reforms are completed before the elections.
"The followers of fascism have no place in public offices. Supporters of fascism still remain in various government institutions, and they must be swiftly removed," he said.
He further said all those involved in the genocide - those who carried it out, followed orders, and provided support - must be brought to justice.
