Prof Mobasser Monem appointed as PSC chairman
He shall hold the post of chairman of Bangladesh Public Service Commission for five years from the date of assumption of office or he attains the age of 65 years
Professor Mobasser Monem has been appointed as the chairman of Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC).
The Ministry of Public Administration has issued a notification in this regard today (9 October).
According to the notification, the president appointed Professor Mobasser Monem under the power vested by Article 138(1) of the Constitution.
According to Article 139(1) of the Constitution, he shall hold the post of chairman of Bangladesh Public Service Commission for five years from the date of assumption of office or he attains the age of 65 years, whichever occurs first.
Besides, Md Suzayet Ullah, Dr Md Aminul Islam, Dr Nurul Qadir, and Dr Md Nazmul Amin Majumdar have been appointed as members of PSC in a separate notification.
All members shall hold office as members of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission for a period of five years from the date of assumption of office or until they attain the age of 65 years, whichever happens first.
The new appointments came after the chairman and 12 members of PSC resigned yesterday (8 October).
