Rajshahi University students warn of breaking into halls on 1 March
Students gathered at the back yard of the central library at 11:30 am on Monday and issued the warning
Rajshahi University (RU) students have issued a warning that they would break down the locks to enter the halls on 1 March if those are not reopened by 28 February.
The students gathered at the backyard of university's central library at 11:30 am on Monday and issued the warning.
They said that the University Grants Commission (UGC) has convened a meeting with the representatives of the universities on Tuesday.
If the decision to open the hall is not decided in the meeting, they will wait until the end of February. Even then, if the university administration does not open the hall, they will enter the halls even by means of breaking down the locks on 1 March.
Students have been protesting at Rajshahi University for the last two days demanding to reopen the university hall-campus.
The students surrounded the residence of the vice-chancellor of the university at 12 noon on Saturday and gave a 24-hour ultimatum to open the hall-campus.
