Revised DAP rules to be finalised in two weeks: Rajuk chairman
Rehab Fair 2024 to run daily from 10am to 9pm until 27 Dec
The revised rules of the Detailed Area Plan (DAP) formulated by Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) will be finalised within the next two weeks, announced its Chairman Major General (retd) Siddiqur Rahman Sarkar.
"The issues related to construction regulations in the DAP will be resolved within two weeks. We are currently reviewing some demands raised by real estate developers regarding the Floor Area Ratio (FAR) and other regulations in the DAP," he said at the inauguration of REHAB Fair 2024 in Dhaka today.
The chairman said they are planning to improve connectivity in the cities surrounding Dhaka to reduce the pressure on the capital. "We are planning to establish several commercial zones around Dhaka, possibly in areas like Savar, Demra, and Narayanganj."
Addressing building usage, the chairman added that they are working to expedite the issuance of occupancy certificates, which has been a source of complications.
"Initiatives have been taken to simplify the process. Any delays or complications in issuing certificates will bring the responsible officials under accountability," he said.
He cautioned real estate developers about delays in project completion.
The country's largest housing fair, Rehab Fair 2024, kicked off at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC). The event, organised by the Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB), will run until 27 December and features a total of 220 stalls.
The fair will be open daily from 10am to 9pm. This year, two types of entry tickets are available: single-entry tickets priced at Tk50 and multiple-entry tickets at Tk100.
