ROSA 3-Day Kitchen, Bath and Living Expo Bangladesh is set to kick off in the capital on 8 June for the second time where companies from seven countries, including Bangladesh, will participate.
The expo will be held at the capital's International Convention City Bashundhara from 10am to 7pm every day, said Nasimur Rahman, director of WEM Bangladesh Marketing Division, in a press conference at the Dhaka Reporters Unity on Tuesday.
The fair will feature 70 brands participating from seven countries – Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, India, Sri Lanka, the United Arab Emirates and Bangladesh. Manufacturers, exporters, and suppliers of kitchen and bath accessories will have the opportunity to showcase their products and technology to visitors. There will be opportunities for spot orders, said Nasimur Rahman.
In association with the Interior Designers Association of Bangladesh (IDAB), WEM Bangladesh, an event management company, is the organiser of the expo while the Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh is the strategic partner, Bangladesh Interior Companies Association is the associate partner, and ROSA is the title sponsor.
"The bathroom and kitchen fittings market in Bangladesh is a Tk5,000-Tk8,000 crore market. As many as 50% of the products are imported but we hope that local companies will be able to meet the demand within five to seven years," said IDAB President Shaful Islam at the press conference.
Shahriar Zaman, marketing manager of AkijBashir Group, said, "We have been exporting international standard sanitary ware for the last three years. We do not want to depend on the import of products which can be produced locally."
At the expo, customers can compare local and imported products, which will help them understand the capacity of the local companies, he added.
There will be student design competitions, workshops, buyer-seller meetings and innovation exchange, and job search.
Every day, customers can win attractive prizes through raffle draws.
Golam Rabbani, brand lead of Rosa, AkijBashir Group, and Shahriar Khan, vice president of Bangladesh Interior Companies Association, were also present on the occasion.
