Secretariat should not end up like Dhanmondi-32: Hasnat warns bureaucrats
The Bangladesh Secretariat should not end up like the demolished residence of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the capital's Dhanmondi-32, said Hasnat Abdullah, convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
Speaking in a live stream on his verified Facebook profile yesterday (7 February), the student leader said, "Maybe not this year, maybe 10 years from now… I would really like it if the Secretariat does not end up like Dhanmondi-32."
Addressing bureaucrats, he said, "Take lessons from Dhanmondi-32 and Ganabhaban. If you think that sitting at the Secretariat, you will maintain good relations with Dhanmondi and India, then you will be made irrelevant just as the Awami League has been made irrelevant in Bangladesh."
Hasnat also called for awareness among people so that no one can illegally grab lands in name of expressing anger against the Awami League.
