Separatists active in Mizoram bordering area: Home Minister
“We have already shared the information during bilateral meeting of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Border Security Force (BSF) of India in Guahati recently,” the minister said while speaking at a medal giving ceremony of BGB at Pilkhana headquarters on Wednesday
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan has said that separatist groups of both India and Bangladesh are active in bordering area of Mizoram.
"We have already shared the information during bilateral meeting of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Border Security Force (BSF) of India in Guahati recently," the minister said while speaking at a medal giving ceremony of BGB at Pilkhana headquarters on Wednesday.
Asaduzzaman Khan said, "BGB is assigned with the significant and great responsibilities to guard country's border. Amid various limitations, the success of BGB in guarding border including stopping smuggling, drug trading and human trafficking is admirable."
"Specially, BGB has achieved special successes in stopping smuggling of yaba, phensidyl and other drugs," he added.
Meanwhile, 60 BGB personnel received medals in four category for their heroic and praiseworthy contributions.
The categories are - Border Guard Bangladesh Bangladesh Medal (BGBM), President Border Guard Medal (PBGM), Border Guard Bangladesh Medal Service (BGBMS) and President Border Guard Medal Service (PBGMS).
The home minister attended the programme as chief guest. Major General Md Shafeenul Islam, BGBM (BAR), was also present.
