Shwapno superstore empowers farmers through direct sourcing
Shwapno, one of Bangladesh's leading supermarket chains, has extended its support to farmers in Mohanpur village, Naogaon district.
Despite producing a bumper cauliflower crop, the farmers struggled to get a fair market price.
Recent news reports highlighted the plight of these farmers, prompting Shwapno to take immediate action. Over the past two weeks, the supermarket has been purchasing cauliflower directly from farmers in Meherpur and Rajbari districts, bringing a smile to their faces. Now, on January 12th, the Dream team has reached Naogaon.
Cauliflower is being procured directly from the farmers and is now available at Dream outlets across Dhaka and beyond.
The supermarket has purchased thousands of cauliflowers from local farmers, including Mo. Abdul Khalek, Abul Kalam Azad, and Abdus Samad.
Sabbir Hasan Nasir, Managing Director of Shwapno, commented, "We were deeply moved by the news reports and social media posts highlighting the challenges faced by farmers in various regions. As a result, the Shwapno team decided to visit Meherpur, Rajbari, and now Naogaon to purchase cauliflower directly from the farmers.
We are committed to supporting our local farmers and ensuring their hard work pays off. The cauliflower grown by these farmers is now available at our outlets for our valued customers.
Whenever we hear about farmers facing difficulties, the Shwapno team will be there to help. A prosperous farmer means a thriving nation."
