It was raining intermittently on Monday morning (26 August). Some four to five people were sitting in front of the deputy commissioner's office in Feni.
A burqa-clad woman was heard saying in a loud voice, "My brother is stuck with his 15-month-old sick child. Yesterday I requested the DC to rescue them but failed to convince him. I've been going to the army, police and journalists, but no one agreed to help."
The woman's name is Bibi Fatema, and she is a resident of the Silonia area of Feni. She arrived in Feni town with her three children after her house was submerged in floodwater.
While talking to TBS, Fatema said that although she was able to come to a safe place, her brother and his family are currently confined at their house.

"The youngest son of my brother is 15 months old. He has a hole in his heart, and he needs to be taken to Dhaka for treatment. But, he is surrounded by floodwater," Fatema said.
"I don't know what they have eaten in the last few days. The DC has told me that he will take steps to rescue them today," Fatema added.
