The marathon run in three categories began from Bashundhara 100ft Gate
A marathon and walkathon, with the participation of 300 Grameenphone employees, was held in the capital on Friday.
The leading telecom company of the country arranged "Quarter Marathon and Walkathon 2020" as part of its regular effort to maintain employees' fitness.
Addressing the event, Grameenphone's Chief Human Resources Officer Syed Tanvir Husain said, "This particular initiative would provide employees with the opportunity to challenge their physical fitness and rediscover their mental endurance. It will also help them adapt to the fast and ever-changing business dynamics."
"Grameenphone recognises that upskilling and reskilling are keystones to run a future-fit organisation."
With the theme "Fitness Matters Most," the marathon run in three categories – for a distance of 3.5 km, 5 km, and 10 km – began from Bashundhara 100ft Gate, said a press release.
