Three injured by gunshots in Dhaka
Three people suffered bullet injuries in separate incidents of gunfire by miscreants in the Kadamtali and Badda areas of the capital early Sunday.
The injured are Md Monir, 45, Md Al Amin, 40, and Saiful Islam, 32.
Monir and Al Amin work as security guards at an iron rod factory in the Dhaka Mess area of Kadamtali, while Saiful lives at South Badda, said Md Faruk, an inspector at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police outpost.
Md Faruk said that the injured were treated at the DMCH. After primary treatment, two were discharged, and the other was referred to the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR), he added.
Regarding the two injured security guards, their supervisor, Md Sabuj, said that Monir and Al Amin were on duty at the factory early Sunday. At about 1:45am, they heard a noise on the road. When they approached with flashlights, an unidentified man opened fire on them. They suffered bullet injuries in the legs. Later, they were rescued and taken to the DMCH at about 3:15am.
In a separate incident, trader Saiful Islam was injured by gunfire from an unidentified person in the Merul Badda area.
He was taken to the DMCH for treatment and later referred to the NITOR.
Saiful's brother, Monir Hossain, said, "We have no information about who shot at him or why."
