Metro rail resumes full operation after 11-hour suspension
The train operations were temporarily suspended on the Agargaon to Motijheel route from 9:40am today due to technical issues
The Dhaka metro rail service returned to normal after a temporary suspension of about 11 hours on the Agargaon to Motijheel route due to technical issues today (18 September).
Full operation resumed from 8:25pm after resolving the technical glitch, the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) said on its verified Facebook page.
The train operations were temporarily suspended on the Agargaon to Motijheel route from 9:40am today. However, trains were still running on the Uttara to Agargaon section.
Nasir Uddin Ahmed, director (operation and maintenance) of the DMTCL, said, "One of the four bearings under a viaduct in the Khamarbari area was displaced in the morning. Upon receiving information, a technical team promptly began repair work.
"By evening, they successfully reinstalled the bearing and after that the train service resumed."
