Paturia-Daulatdia ferry services suspended
The authorities of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) suspended the services to avoid accidents as the ferry's marking light has dimmed down as a result of thick fog
The ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia route have been suspended from 5.30am this morning due to poor visibility caused by dense fog.
The authorities of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) suspended the services to avoid accidents as the ferry's marking light has dimmed down as a result of thick fog.
Zillur Rahman, deputy general manager (DGM) of BIWTC Aricha office, confirmed the matter and said "Heavy fog started to disrupt the visibility since mid-night. As it came to the point when the marking lights became blurry, the authority decided to suspend the services temporarily to avoid any mishap."
"Regular services will resume as soon as the weather permits," he added.
Meanwhile, the number of waiting vehicles are increasing on both sides of the terminals.
