Two minor girls drowned in the Teesta River at Paragram in Jaldhaka upazila Saturday noon.
The deceased were identified as Mim Akter, 6, daughter of Mosharraf Hossain and Mitu, 7, daughter of Abdul Quaium of the village. Both were students of Bosaria Government Primary School.
Quoting family members, Shoilmari union parishad Chairman Pranjit Kumar Palash said Mim and Mitu drowned when they went to the river for taking bath.

Later, family members recovered their bodies from the river, he added.
