Will forget all pain if we can build better Bangladesh: Martyred Mughdho’s brother Snigdho
Snigdho made the statement at an event organised by Laksam Traditional Protection City at Laksam Municipality Auditorium yesterday (28 September)
Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdho, brother of martyr Mir Mahfuzur Rahman Mugdho and general secretary of July Martyrs Memorial Foundation, said he will forget all pains if Bangladesh is rebuilt into a beautiful country.
"I can't sleep at night now. Everyone used to say that my brother's smile was very beautiful. But now I can't smile. The deaths of Mugdho and other martyrs during the July movement haunt me. I will forget all the pain if we can build a beautiful Bangladesh," Snigdho said.
Snigdho made the statement at an event organised by Laksam Oitijjobahi Surokkha City at Laksam Municipality Auditorium yesterday (28 September).
The event was presided over by the organisation's Managing Director Md Asaduzzaman Bhutto.
In his speech as the chief guest, Snigdho said, "Those who have lost their closed ones understand how excruciating the pain is. My brothers and sisters wanted to build a country free from repression, injustice and corruption. We are still working to make their dreams come true."
Urging everyone to assist Prof Muhammad Yunus in rebuilding the country, Snigdho said that they are constantly communicating with the families of the martyrs.
"July Martyrs Memorial Foundation has been established to assist the families of the martyrs. Those who was injured and had died in the movement has liberated the country from an autocratic rule. We need to protect this newfound freedom," Snigdho added.
Many local dignitaries and political leaders were present in the event.
