GP Employees Union protest against job termination
Their movement will continue in front of the National Press Club on Saturday
The members of Grameenphone Employees Union (GPEU) on Thursday demonstrated against the sacking of the union's General Secretary Mia Masud and 179 other employees.
They formed a human chain in protest in front of the National Museum in Shahbagh from 10 am to 12 pm demanding the reinstatement of Masud and other employees who were sacked from Regional Operations and Grameenphone Customer Service Centers.
Fazlul Haque, acting president of the union, said, "Our movement will continue until the GPEU general secretary Mia Masud and others from the Regional Operations and Grameenphone Customer Service Center are reinstated."
He also announced their movement will continue in front of the National Press Club on Saturday from 10 am.
GPEU General Secretary, Mia Masud, alongside GPEU Women's Committee President, Sharmin Bobby, Secretary, Subarna, and GPEU GP House Committee President Beroj were present at the demonstration.
