Reaching for the skies: 2021 Tenure plan of NSU YES!
With the vision of ‘Reaching for the Skies’, NSU YES! plans to touch the horizon and have a bird’s eye view over its nest
As NSU YES! closes its chapter for 2020, a new story awaits to be written. The club has been an ace in every deck of the cards it played and outran every obstacle in its path. As the club continues to evolve, an unquenchable thirst for exploration and boldness reaches a new summit every year. The club has proved itself to be dynamic, a trendsetter in the pandemic, only allowing room for meticulous improvements, and being daring enough to enter the unsung atmosphere. NSU YES! has proved to be a trailblazer in the previous year and their goals for the new fiscal year are higher than ever, as the club unfurls its wings and prepares to take flight.
With the vision of 'Reaching for the Skies', NSU YES! plans to touch the horizon and have a bird's eye view over its nest. The club recognizes the untapped potential overseas and plans to bridge the difference by affiliating with foreign clubs and their students and also, honing their vision into their long-term growth goals. NSU YES! has raised the bar high and sets a new benchmark every year by being the first-mover at every step.
NSU YES! has always reckoned its members to be the linchpins of the organisation. Aligning to the "Members come first" policy, the club has always focused on the development of its members. Keeping this in mind, the club has been planning to devise such a platform where everyone can review their progress in real-time by creating a transparent database and assessment system for all the members.
This club has been arranging "Member Development Sessions" (MDPs) for the growth of its members for a very long time. To instil the most in-demand skills into the members of the club, NSU YES! plans to conduct multiple week-long sessions containing different modules instead of a single session over a topic. These sessions are going to be interactive and assessment-based as NSU YES! believes in learning through experiencing.
As NSU YES! has always believed in collective growth, it has been arranging intra business competitions by forming teams comprising a mixture of different ranks of members. These are a simulation of the real-life business competitions as they help the members learn how to solve cases, make advertisements, pitch ideas, and craft business plans.
The constitution of the club will be rewritten and rephrased into a more organised version and will be put into action. The new constitution will be put into practice to reach new heights and preserved for the future.
The aim is to create more traffic and transition more eyes to the club website from the club's Facebook page. Both the quality and quantity of the monthly static contents and articles will be increased. Monthly short magazines will be a new addition to the pre-existing contents. The R&D wing will have the collective efforts from the general members, senior members, and the sub executive board to improve the quality of research, come up with new and innovative ideas and develop the club accordingly.
Making the club alumni more involved and keeping them updated with the ongoing activities of the club will be one of the utmost priorities. There will be measures that will allow the existing members and alumni members to interact more often which will strengthen the bond between everyone. Involving the alumni in all the club events throughout the year and holding member development workshops by the honourable alumni is a priority.
An annual magazine will be published for the club at the end of every fiscal year where all the internal and external events that would be held in that specific year will be discussed at length. There will be articles to promote and appreciate the sponsors and partners whom the club will be affiliated with throughout that year.
A hub will be created to help both the existing and potential entrepreneurs come up with constructive ideas. Anyone interested will have access to necessary information for operating their business, whether it be knowing which vendor to choose or advice on how to operate a specific business from the professional. When it is feasible, there will be initiatives so that all members get to experience this hub in a physical space as either a participant or visitor. For now, multiple platforms such as Facebook groups, WhatsApp group chats will be used to keep everyone connected and updated with the initiative.
As a student-run club, NSU YES! has always strived in favour of humanitarian beliefs. Therefore, this time, they have decided to take initiatives and visualise it further. To begin with, NSU YES! will introduce an 'Emergency Access to Fund' plan. There is usually some remaining capital left after an event which is further used in other upcoming projects. Nevertheless, this fund will ensure that any remaining capital from an event is utilised towards a greater cause. So, they plan to show gratitude and give back to the community they live in by dedicating this fund to charitable disbursements. On the other hand, this club will initiate to establish a 'Blood Bank Database' of its members. This database will direct them to whom and where they should contact in case of emergencies. It's not only a step taken to tackle any relevant crisis but also to preserve their relationship with the current members and alumni.
The add-ons have been divided into two subcategories: Internal and External. For internal add-ons, they envision a place for entrepreneurs and job seekers so this club can nurture the growth of all its members. Furthermore, they aim to promote a culture that cultivates goodwill within members and has a 'zero tolerance' policy against actions that can hamper the growth of their members. They want to develop Leadership Development Programs (LDPs) that will nurture the skills of their members in terms of investment, analytics, pitch deck, investment landscape, evaluation of startups, and a business competition hub. Also, NSU YES! aims to create a business competition hub to accumulate the methods, plans, and related data utilised previously for future application.
For external add-ons, NSU YES! will focus on employer branding by building up the members' expertise in distinct categories for companies to seek volunteers or employees from us every time they are willing to recruit. As NSU YES! wishes to create international affiliations, their target is to select eminent club ambassadors from their affiliated national/international organisations to bridge the gap between the two parties and act as representatives. Moreover, they aspire to expand within Bangladesh and strengthen their networking within the country. Last but not the least, they aim to cultivate a LinkedIn presence of NSU YES! members.
In conclusion, this year's vision is hefty but very precise. Their motto for this year is to 'reach for the skies' and they believe, with their members' hard work and support, they will be able to turn their vision into reality.
