Singer to launch Beko’s HygieneShield product line in Bangladesh
The new home appliances line uses UV light technology heat and steam to kill more than 99% of bacteria and viruses (including coronavirus) in household usage
In response to emerging consumer needs during the post-lockdown time, leading European home appliance brand Beko has developed HygieneShield, a ground-breaking household product line.
The new home appliances line uses UV light technology heat and steam to kill more than 99% of bacteria and viruses (including coronavirus) in household usage, said a press statement issued by Singer Bangladesh on Thursday.
Beko, the top European brand is owned by Turkish company Arcelik which is also the major shareholder of Bangladesh's leading consumer appliances company Singer Bangladesh Ltd.
Singer is the exclusive distributor of Beko appliances in Bangladesh.
The new product line includes seven appliances with in-built disinfection programmes and functions to disinfect packaged food and belongings to help consumers adjust to the 'new normal' lives during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
The product range includes a combi refrigerator with disinfection drawer, HygieneShield washing machine, HygieneShield washer dryer, built-in oven with saturated steam and heat, HygieneShield dishwasher, tumble dryer with UV Light technology and the UV cleaning cabinet.
In the press statement, MHM Fairoz, chief executive officer of Singer Bangladesh
said, "As a member of the Arcelik family, Singer is proud to be a part of this innovation in response to the global disaster caused by the Covid-19 pandemic."
"We are expecting to offer these HygieneShield appliances to Bangladeshi consumers soon," he added.
The formal announcement of this breakthrough product line came from a recently held virtual press conference attended by Hakan Bulgurlu, chief executive officer of Arçelik, Zeynep Yalım Uzun, its chief marketing officer and top medical researchers.
Speaking at the event Hakan Bulgurlu said, "We are excited to introduce Beko's latest innovations and our first ever full product line to market. The products have been tailored to help consumers achieve professional levels of hygiene at home and protect them from infections and diseases."
