3 held in Chennai for selling Remdesivir smuggled from Bangladesh

Three men were arrested on Saturday night in Adyar of Chennai in India for selling Remdesivir smuggled from Bangladesh, for Rs 25,000 per vial.
Aadityan, 24, of KK Nagar, and Raj Kumar, 27, of Parry's own pharmacies, while Syed Amjith, a 38-year-old from the Thousand Lights neighbourhood, works in a pharmacy.
A special police team that was investigating the black market for remdesivir drugs came across an advertisement online and pretended to be consumers and confronted the seller, reports The Times of India.

When they arrived to deliver the medications, the squad intercepted them at the Indira Nagar water tank in Adyar and confiscated two vials. They sold a vial with an MRP of Rs 800 for Rs 25,000.
They were also confiscated with Rs 89,000 in cash by members of the special police team.
During questioning, all three admitted that the vials had been sent to them by an agent from Bangladesh. The vial has a different name on the cover, and the price tag reads Tk3,500.
The drugs are thought to have come from Bangladesh and been routed via Tripura, according to the police. According to police, an investigation is underway to track down the network.
Six people were arrested across the state in a major seizure on Friday.
