10 more die at RMCH Covid-19 unit, lockdown extended till 24 June

Ten more people died of Covid-19 at the coronavirus ward of Rajshahi Medical college Hospital (RMCH) in Rajshahi in the last 24 hours.
Besides, the special lockdown has been extended for one week as the infection and number of deaths are still on the rise, reports Somoy TV.
"The lockdown has been extended to 24 June midnight as the situation of the district is still dire," said AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, mayor of Rajshahi city, after a meeting on the coronavirus situation.
Among the deceased patients, seven are from Rajshahi, others from Chapainawabganj, Natore and Naogaon districts.
According to the RMCH authority, 44 new patients were admitted in the last 24 hours. Total 358 patients are admitted against 309 designated beds.
Out of 400 samples tested in two PCR labs in Rajshahi yesterday, 166 came back positive making the infection rate 41.5 percent.
Besides, 20 Covid-19 patients are admitted in 22 designated Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
